‘nostalgic (luvsick)’ is an anthemic piece of pop from rising singer-songwriter renforshort. The track opens with a delicate accompaniment made up only of distant claps and muted guitar notes, before building into a powerful rock song full of huge melodies and interesting production choices. If the influence of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World wasn’t obvious enough from the accompanying artwork, renforshort explains that the film is “the backbone for the entire creative arch surrounding the song, the visuals and cover art are reminiscent of Scott’s character, i think that it’s really cool to be able to be in Scott’s shoes and play his character for a brief moment.” ‘Nostalgic (luvsick)’ might be all about the past, but there is a big future in renforshort. -Dan Peeke
